Dear Class:
For your fifth blog post, I would like for you to answer that following questions:
1) Explain how blogging could provide an important source of information for either professionals or consumers of OT. You may specifically discuss the area of OT that you chose to write about this semester or speak of blogging and OT in general.
Also note the following:
2) What was your favorite blog post you composed or read this semester? Why?
3) What like best and least about blogging?
4) If you will continue to blog in the future. If you will continue blogging, what will your topic be?
The final post will be due Friday, Dec 4.

Learning From Research
Dear Class:
It is important to continue to learn about the OT field by researching therapies and how they are applied. Over the past 3 weeks you have been working within a group to produce a Literature Review on a current issue or area of OT. In blog post number 4, discuss the topic that your group chose to review, what you have learned about this topic and what you think it's impact will be on the future of OT.
This posting is due on Nov. 20 by 10 AM.
Please incorporate and cite at least one of the sources you examined while researching this topic.
Happy Blogging!

Reading and Responding to Other Students' Posts
Dear Students:
To be a good blogger, one must read other people's blogs. In the 2 OT Professional Writing Classes, we have 49 students writing about various areas of OT as well as a variety of therapies. As another way of broadening your knowledge base of the OT field, I would like for you to peruse postings made by your OT peers.
For your week 3 posting, I would like for you to read two or more of your classmates (either class) blogs. Give a brief synopsis of these other people's blog postings and what you learned from their postings. You may quote from the person's blog and or from the source they used to write their blog. Do not forget to cite your source if you quote either the person or their blog's source.
The blog posting is due Friday, Nov 6 by 10 AM.
PS- Remember to proofread your blogs before posting.

First Blog Post
ENGL 4000- 05 and 06
Dear Students:
I have posted all of the blog URLs for 4000-05 and 06 on the initial post for this blog. As of now, the best way to access your blog or another person's blog is to (1) copy and paste the URL onto a google search bar or (2) highlight the URL and right click on the mouse and select open link.
***Your first blog post will be due on Friday, October 9 by 10 AM.
As you begin you blogging experience for this class, remember to create sites that are appealing in their use of backgrounds and visuals. Strive to use informative, clear, concise writing as this is a professional writing course. Furthermore, check each post for punctuation and grammatical errors prior to posting. Make sure that you continue to include a reference to an outside source in each post and seek out topics that are of interest to you and others in your chosen career.
For this first blog post, I would like for you to write about the topic you have chosen for your blog. In your post include:
1) Reasons for why you chose to blog about this aspect of OT
2) Experience and /or knowledge you have within this area ( but not necessarily in OT) - For example, your blog topic may be "Cooking and OT" and your experience is with love of baking or culinary classes. Or you may be writing about Pediatric OT and you have worked at a summer camp with kids.
3) What you hope to learn or teach others about this topic through blogging
4) Reference an outside source or another blog in your post

Blogging in the Classroom and Workplace
ENGL 4000 - 05 and 06
Today ( Monday 10/28 & Tuesday 10/29) we will create blogs using Blogger.com. The format and topic of each individual blog will be determined by the student; however, the blog must cover some area of one's chosen academic field and/or future career. Over the course of the semester, students will update their blog weekly. At the end of the semester, individuals will give presentations on their blog and discuss what they have learned about their chosen career through blogging and the value of blogging. The weekly blogs (five in total) must be academic in nature, discuss timely matters, and make intellectual reference to an article/ another blog/ or a media site. Currently, there is no recommended blog post length; however, a fleshed out paragraph would be appropriate.
We will use one class period to set up Blogger accounts and start blogging! Your weekly blog posts will be done as homework due each Friday by 10 AM.
